  “저는 가끔 제 선생님을 만납니다. 선생님을 뵈면 저는 그동안 공부한 것을 간단하게 말씀드리기도 하고 번역하거나 쓴 책이 있으면 드리기도 합니다. 그냥 드릴 뿐입니다. 이 책을 쓰느라 얼마나 시간이 들어갔는지, 고생을 얼마나 했는지 따위는 말할 필요가 없습니다. 그냥 드리면 선생님은 아십니다. 책을 살펴보시고 ‘수고많았네’ 하시면 그만입니다.”
