Philippians 3:8-11 ESV
Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
Ephesians 2:10 ESV
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
지극히 미미한 공부로 무결함의 그랜드 디자인을 꾀함은, 얼마나 우활한 짓인가. 사도 바울은 이러한 일체의 행위를 배설물로 여겼다.
그렇다면 공부는 무의미한가. 그럴 수 없다. 율법과 마찬가지로 그것은 우리의 결함을 자각케 한다. 다만 구원을 바랄 수 없을 뿐이다(”The Law is a tool to help us realize our sin, so it cannot function as a salvation tool.”).
구원은 어디서 오는가. 하나님을 경험하는 삶 외에는 길을 알지 못한다.
