그리스도인과 기독교인은 유의어가 아니다. 그리스도인은 기독교인의 충분조건이다. 그리스도인은 누구인가. 예수 그리스도를 따르는 자이다. 예수의 제자는 일생의 성화를 전제한다. 말씀이 육화되는 성화가 그리스도인의 지표인 것이다. 그리스도인의 진위는 말이 아닌 삶의 신앙고백으로 판별된다. 그리스도인은 성경적 세계관으로 살아가는 자이다.
