“시와 철학의 분리라는 말에서 우리가 떠올릴 수 있는 건 플라톤의 <국가>에 나오는 유명한 ‘시인추방론’인데, 아감벤 역시 그러하다. 플라톤은 시적인 언어와 생각하는 언어 사이에서 일어난 이 분리현상을 ‘오래된 불화’ 혹은 ‘오래된 적대관계’로 규정했다. 이 불화는 어떤 사태를 빚어내는가. 바로 시와 철학의 불완전성이다. 시는 대상을 파악하지 못한 상태에서 소유하는 반면에 철학은 대상을 소유하지 못한 상태에서 파악한다. 곧 인식과 소유의 분리이며, 이것은 앎의 대상을 완전히 소유할 수 없다는 사실을 의미한다.”(이현우)
