Hosea 1:1-2 ESV
The word of the Lord that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. When the Lord first spoke through Hosea, the Lord said to Hosea, “Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom, for the land commits great whoredom by forsaking the Lord.”
북이스라엘이 유례없이 부유하고 음란했던 그 때, 호세아는 심판과 회복의 예언을 받는다. 약 20년 후 앗수르는 북이스라엘을 점령한다. “지금 우리도 번영을 좀 더 구하기보다 방탕함을 회개해야 하는 것은 아닐까요?”
