어쩌면 그들은 뿌리 깊은 학벌주의 폐해 사례다. 철학의 빈곤이랄까. 어설픈 진단으로 사유의 끝이 미성년에 머물러 있다.

2014년 “경제협력개발기구(OECD)가 36개 회원국을 대상으로 조사한 ‘더 나은 삶의 질 지수’에서 우리나라는 29위를 했다. 10명 중 불과 2명 꼴인 23%만이 정부를 신뢰한다고 했다. 최고를 기록한 스위스(77%)는 물론이고 OECD 평균(38.9%)에도 한참 못 미쳤다. 몇 년 전에는 우리의 사회갈등지수가 OECD 회원국 중 터키에 이어 두 번째로 높고, 이런 갈등으로 인한 경제손실이 연간 82조~246조원에 달한다는 조사도 있었다.”
